"Christmas in the Heart," a presentation by the members of First Baptist Church of Port Bolivar, will be given on Sunday evening, December 19, at 6:00 PM, in the auditorium. Our folks have worked very diligently on this presentation and we would like to have some friends of the community in the audience to see their effort. Refreshments will be served afterward. All are invited. Should be a lot of fun...
Ted Henley plays the role of Mr. Theodore Worley, grumpy grandfather and the patriarch of a large family dealing withe the celebration of Christmas. Robert Bouse plays the part of Irvin Blessing, a counterpart to Mr. Worley and he and his family share the joy of Christmas in their hearts.
Lots of other actors involved and good Christmas music. If you have not seen a Christmas play or heard carols this year, here is your opportunity, besides supporting your friends in this effort.
Be there at 6 on Sunday night for some fun, laughter, and a message from the play. And, plan to stay for refreshments following the presentation, please.

We thank God for His continued blessings on our work...
Two more new members united with our fellowship this morning in the Sunday Service. That makes 11 new members in just three weeks. God is on the move...
Welcome to our midst, Steven Brown and Luke Scott. Both of these young men are musicians and will add much to the worship services. The Youth Department is growing and will have services on Sunday night and Wednesday designed for their age group.
Adult class is growing and the lessons are teachings on church and Sunday School building. Today's lesson featured the plan of salvation and how to lead a soul to Christ. We appreciate the willing participants who helped to illustrate the lesson.
Come and visit us to see what God will do next.
Welcome, too, to Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Sievers and Nick Oglesby, who were also visiting with us.

What an exciting day on Sunday...
Sunday School got off to a wonderful start with folks in all planned classes and everything, we are pleased to report, got off to a great begining. Dennis Allen and I had 15 in the Adult Bible Class that meets in the newly rebuilt auditorium. We thank God for our visitors and members alike to attend services faithfully.
Mrs. Ruby Ewing won the beautiful autumn inspired fall wreath for her home by bringing three visitors as her guests. Virginia Shuttlesworth and Dena Castor came as my guests and many others were present.
The Youth Department got off to a good start, too, with seven students. Miss Cynthia was delighted.
Join us for Prayer Meeting and Bible Study on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM and Sunday School this week at 10:00 AM, Morning Worship at 11:00 AM, and Sunday Night Services at 6:00 PM, all meeting at the church location at 523 Nelson in Port Bolivar. We'd love to have you come and check us out and see what God is doing.

Thank God for His rich blessings...
The pastor of First Baptist Church of Port Bolivar and all of the members thank God for His goodness to us. We had a sweet young mother of two small children trust Christ this morning at the close of worship. How thrilling for her, her family, and what a blessing to our entire church family.
That's what it's all about, folks, seeing people trust Christ, grow closer to Him, and out and about telling others.
Please plan to join us in Sunday School at 10 A. M. on September 12. Classes for all ages. Don't dare miss out on the beginning.

Back to Sunday School...
On September 12, 2010, Pastor Dennis Allen and the members of First Baptist Church of Port Bolivar invite those in the community that have not chosen a home church to come and meet with us for an exciting new beginning. Sunday School will begin promptly at 10 AM with classes for all age groups. Morning worship will follow at 11 AM in the main auditorium of the church located at 523 Nelson Street in Port Bolivar.
Exciting lessons, fun music, and good fellowship will be offered for infants through adults. Lessons are written on practical subject matter and will give examples and ideas for daily living. Bring your Bibles, your children, your friends, neighbors, and co-workers and let's study the Word of God together. We're also looking for those who want to be workers. Many opportunities exist in music, teaching, singing, and planning and organizing. We will also be initiating a new evangelistic/visitation outreach into our community to reach others.
There's just something really exciting about being on the ground floor of any new beginning and working together to achieve success for the glory of the Lord. Come and be a part. We'd be honored to have you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to write me, Brenda Cannon Henley, at brendacannonhenley@yahoo.com or call (409) 781-8788. Please feel free to comment here on our new blog site, too. We'd love to know what interests you and what you would like to see incorporated into the hub of the church ministry.

Thank God from Whom all blessings flow...
Pastor Dennis Allen and the members and friends of First Baptist Church of Port Bolivar were delighted to be able to conduct the first Sunday morning worship service in their new auditorium on Sunday, August 15, 2010. The beautiful building has been completely rennovated since Hurricane Ike ravaged the Bolivar Peninsula in September 2008.
Our heartfelt thanks to the team of workers who have labored faithfully to see that this hub symbol of the community has been rebuilt and made ready for the congregation.
We invite friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers, and new friends to come and visit our services. We are excited about what the Lord is doing in our midst and are looking forward to a fantastic fall. Sunday school classes, a strong youth program and an exciting music ministry is being organized and will soon be announced to the community.
Join us now at 10 AM for the morning worship service, 6 PM for the evening worship service on Sundays and at 7 PM for the Wednesday night Bible study and prayer time.
Everyone is welcome and guests are invited to come as they are.
If you have any questions at all about the church, Pastor Allen or any of the members will be happy to talk with you. All are welcome at First Baptist Church of Port Bolivar...and that means YOU!
